Introduction: We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Outside Sales Representative to join our dynamic team in the metal industry. In this role, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and maintaining relationships with current customers. You will be the face of our company in the field, representing our products and services to both potential and existing clients. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for sales, a strong work ethic, and an understanding of the metal industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and prospect new customers in the metal industry through cold calling, networking, and attending industry events.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with current customers, understanding their needs and providing solutions.
Present and promote a variety of metal products, services, and solutions to new and existing clients.
Negotiate pricing and terms with customers, ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and progress toward goals in the company’s CRM system.
Provide technical knowledge and consultative selling to guide customers in selecting the right products for their needs.
Collaborate with the inside sales team, warehouse, and operations to ensure timely order fulfillment and quality control.
Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor offerings to identify new business opportunities.
Meet or exceed sales targets and performance metrics.
Travel within assigned territory to meet with clients and explore new business opportunities.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in outside sales, preferably within the metal, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
Strong knowledge of metal products, materials, and industry standards.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build relationships and maintain a customer-focused approach.
Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and results-oriented mindset.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for travel within the assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Engineering, or a related field.
Previous experience selling metal products or services.
Knowledge of relevant regulations and safety standards in the metal industry.
