Position Overview
We are seeking a results-driven Outside Sales Representative to join our team. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, driving revenue growth, and promoting Polymershapes' comprehensive portfolio of plastic products and services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sales, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to identify customer needs and deliver tailored solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers across assigned territories.
- Conduct regular in-person visits to customer sites to understand their needs and identify opportunities for growth.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Sales Growth:
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve or exceed sales targets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within target industries and markets.
- Provide customized solutions by understanding customer applications, requirements, and challenges.
Product Knowledge
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of Polymershapes' product offerings, including plastic materials, machining services, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Educate customers on product features, benefits, and applications to ensure proper material selection.
Market Analysis
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for competitive advantage.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop pricing strategies and identify new product opportunities.
Collaboration and Reporting
- Work closely with internal teams, including customer service, operations, and technical support, to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and pipeline opportunities in the CRM system.
- Provide regular reports on sales performance, market conditions, and customer feedback.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferred. Relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.
Experience
- Proven track record of success in outside sales, preferably in plastics, manufacturing, or industrial markets.
- Strong knowledge of plastic materials, applications, and distribution channels is a plus.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to build long-term partnerships.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in selling industrial or technical products.
- Knowledge of industries that utilize plastics, such as automotive, aerospace, construction, and healthcare.
