We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-driven Permanent Outside Sales Representative to join our thriving team. This role is perfect for a sales professional with a strong understanding of the construction industry and a proven track record of achieving sales targets. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients, identifying new business opportunities, and driving the growth of our company. This position requires a self-starter with a hunter mentality and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve corporate targets.
2. Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the construction industry.
3. Plan persuasive approaches and pitches to potential clients.
4. Cold call prospective clients to generate business.
5. Meet with clients to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the quality of our company’s relationship with them.
6. Provide a consultative sales approach - creating value for both the customer and the organization.
7. Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
8. Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.
9. Participate in pricing the solution/service.
10. Present an image that mirrors that of the client.
11. Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
3. Proven track record in outside sales, including a demonstrated ability to generate and close deals.
4. Proficiency in cold calling with the ability to build a client base from the ground up.
5. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
6. Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
7. Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work both independently and on a team.
8. Knowledge of construction industry trends, market drivers, and key customer buying behaviors.
9. Ability to travel as needed.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and customer relationship management software.
