Outside Account Representative Wanted for the Colorado and Northern New Mexico Territory!
The base salary for this position is $70,000 base with an opportunity to earn incentive pay. Your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic locations, skills, education and/or experience. Please keep in mind that that the range published is the full base salary. We also offer a generous benefits package.
The Outside Account Representative will manage our Territory for Colorado and Northern New Mexico. This role will establish and enhance sales relationships with customers and cover regional customer accounts.
Allweather Wood is the largest producer and distributor of waterborne preservative treated wood products in the Western USA. Operating six wood preserving plants in California, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and Washington, these state-of-the-art facilities enable year-round production of a variety of preservative systems, fire retardants and wood species, including Douglas-fir, Hem fir, and Southern Yellow Pine. With support from two full-service distribution centers in California, Allweather Wood partners with home improvement retailers, lumberyards, and building material dealers to bring a full range of preservative and fire-retardant lumber and plywood products to market.

Responsibilities
- Service existing accounts obtaining orders by planning and organizing daily work schedules to call on existing or potential sales outlets.
- Look for opportunities to grow the product mix at existing accounts.
- Establish new accounts within the territory through prospecting.
- Monitor current marketplace information on pricing, products, market trends, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
- Measure customer’s pressure treated and redwood business growth by using sales numbers and products sku mix analysis.
- Assist with stocking orders for yards by reviewing inventory levels and providing a suggested ordering list.
- Facilitate product knowledge events and participate in customer entertainment, as needed.
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
- Complete such additional projects as may be directed by the Sales Manager, or designee.
- Participate in customer events as required.
- Communicate with management by submitting activity and results reports such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and schedules.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in sales/distribution, preferably in lumber.
- Working knowledge of the pressure treated lumber industry preferred.
- Must maintain and carry a valid driver license and remain eligible and capable of operating vehicles in accordance with company policy guidelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
- Knowledge of inventory software and order processing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret documents.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Position travels approximately 90% of the time and will include overnight traveling.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to communicate.
- Frequently required to sit for long periods of time; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or smell.
- Must use a keyboard for extended periods of time while viewing a computer monitor.
- The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
