Summary/Objective:
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for achieving long-term sales growth, margins, and profitability in their assigned territory/defined customer base. Success is achieved by technical sales support, sales lead generation, and general business development for the territory and other select accounts. as required.
Territory:
Western MA
Essential Functions:
- Provides in-person sales coverage of an assigned territory, requiring the use of a personal vehicle
- Develops maximum sales potential out of assigned territory through competitive sales techniques and knowledge of the company's products and services, as well as the competition's strengths/weaknesses
- Builds and maintains quality relations with existing assigned accounts and grows account base and volume of sales on a consistent basis
- Contacts customers via telephone, correspondence, or in person by traveling as frequently as necessary to meet and surpass profitable sales goals for the company
- Creates customized proposals to meet specific customer requirements in an efficient manner
- Manages profit margins within company guidelines
- Receives and resolves customer requests in a timely manner
- Utilizes company leads to expand current customer base and follows up all leads promptly
- Maintains updated, organized files on all accounts in assigned territory
- Completes and submits sales reports on account activity
- Provides monthly documentation with outstanding proposals, proposals secured, and proposals lost
- Performs other related duties as assigned

- Excellent interpersonal and selling skills with strong emphasis on value-based sales

- Ability to develop strong technical knowledge of company products
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal, writing, and reading skills, with ability to communicate on all levels
- Strong computer skills and the ability to work with Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets

Travel:
The Outside Sales Representative travels regularly to customer locations to perform sales responsibilities and problem solving. Some overnight travel may be required. Daily trips are expected to manage a successful territory.
