Description
The Outside Sales Rep is responsible for successfully providing excellent customer service and maintains an active, established client list in your assigned territory. The position has an assigned customer list and will proactively build relationships with their customer base.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
· Uses a call plan to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders
· Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
· Coordinates with sales personnel on availability and deliverables
· Generate maximum profitability with customer lists and prospective clients
· Monitor all sales activities of the territory and report lost sales/rentals
· Negotiate and close equipment sales to ensure profitability while maximizing industry sales in the region
· Maintain knowledge of all product lines and understand marketing programs to ensure effective representation
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, in person, over the phone, and in writing to exceed customer expectations and needs
· Build and maintain effective relationships within the Riggs organization and with client base
· Continued education/training on equipment product lines offered by Riggs
· Responsible for long-term satisfaction of customers
· Attend trade shows to promote product and Riggs
· Continue to provide after-sale satisfaction communication with customers
Requirements
WHAT YOU'LL NEED·
Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully, and sometimes develop alternative solutions;

· Bachelor's degree (B. A.or B.S.) from four-year college or university (May be waived due to experience level)
· 1-5 Caterpillar or Competitor Sales Experience (must have in-person sales experience)
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills (bilingual a +)
· Must possess a valid driver license and clean driving record.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
Employee must be able to lift 25 lbs of force occasionally and 10 lbs of force frequently.
The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.

This is an outside sales position that may require overnight travel.
