Outside Sales Rep
We are looking for experienced Outside Sales Reps in the Heavy Equipment and Waste industries to join our growing team! The Outside Sales Rep will be responsible for selling heavy equipment and machinery to municipalities and government departments and maintaining strong relationships with public sector clients. This role involves identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities, presenting product solutions tailored to the specific needs of government agencies, and negotiating contracts. The representative must stay up-to-date on industry trends, government regulations, and procurement processes, ensuring compliance and efficiency in all transactions. A successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of heavy machinery, and the ability to manage long sales cycles and complex bids.
Responsibilities for the Outside Sales Rep:
- Ensure delivery of target sales by meeting with customers and maintaining relationships
- Recommend service and product enhancements to improve sales potential
- Analyze plans and trends to ensure best assignment of territories, clients, and service distribution
- Maintain technical and professional knowledge by reviewing professional publications, participating in industry networks, and growing lasting client relationships
- Establish sales objectives by projecting expected sales volumes and forecasting.
- Remain relevant with economic indicators, changing trends, supply and demand shifts, and product mix.
- Positively contribute to full sales and customer service teams
- Document customer interactions and maintain data related to activities, accounts, and vendor partners
- Develop and collaborate on long- and short-term sales strategies
Requirements of the Outside Sales Rep:
- Minimum 3-5+ years of Sales experience with Heavy Machinery and/or Waste equipment
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and plan
- Market experience and knowledge
- Ability to recognize the client needs and sell within the scope of service menu
- Budget development
- Process and people management
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
