The journey begins here - with Global- a 1st Flagship Company, we are currently looking for an Outside Machinist (2nd Class).
What You'll Be Doing:
- Removes ship's main propulsion machinery including turbine generators, internal combustion engines, reduction gears, propeller shafts, pumps, valves, auxiliary engines, ordnance machinery and other shipboard components.
- Duties may also include work on hydraulic actuators, boat davits, capstans, windlasses and auxiliary cranes.
- Installing blanks to shipboard piping, locating, repairing and isolation leaks to systems and hull.
- Removing interference to including system components, ducking and bulkheads to support work.
- Knowledge and experience with various mechanical tools including electrical and pneumatic.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Minimum:
- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- Four (4) years of relevant ship or industrial mechanic machinist experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license and qualify to operate government/company vehicles in accordance with the Corporate Fleet Vehicle Safety Manual.
Preferred:
- Four (4) years of experience serving in a Navy Engineering rating.
