Must-Haves:
Graduate of an allied health education program and accredited radiography school or hospital-based program.
NY State DOH Licensure or Limited Permit required, and certification through ARRT-RT and/or registered RT (R).
BLS certification.
Education Experience Requirements:
Graduate of an allied health education program and accredited radiography school or hospital-based program.
NY State DOH Licensure or Limited Permit required, and certification through ARRT-RT and/or registered RT (R).
Continuing education requirements must be upheld to meet the standards set forth by governing bodies.
DOH IV certification preferred or by completion of a 6-month orientation.
BLS certification through the (AHA) American Heart Association is required or must be completed within 90 days of hire.
Radiation dose pledge for both Image Gently and Image Wisely through the American College of Radiology (ACR) will be performed during the orientation process and before the end of the probationary period.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Understand and adhere to WPH Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors.
Prepare and position patients accurately for specific examinations, observing different and special requirements for each protocol, ensuring proper documentation.
Assume responsibilities for designated areas and/or procedures, producing high-quality technical images and reviewing completed exams for quality and completeness.
Assist physicians during practice-based procedures as necessary.
Perform equipment quality assurance and calibrations, and order supplies as needed.
Maintain cleanliness in work areas, equipment, and accessories, reporting any malfunctioning equipment promptly.
Process images or print CDs when needed.
Perform routine office tasks, such as answering phones, checking-in patients, obtaining previous reports/films, and other related duties as needed.
Show Radiologist films, call reports to attending physicians, and document communications if necessary (wet readings).
Provide clinical instructions to students.
Treat all people/staff in a professional and courteous manner, upholding WPH's behavioral standards.
Introduce self and educate each patient or family member regarding the ordered examination.
Demonstrate knowledge and skill in providing care based on the needs of different patient populations.
Perform other related duties as required, attend staff meetings and in-services.
Coverage rotation to other outpatient sites.
Duties and hours may change according to the needs of the offsite practice.
Position is eligible for specialty certification compensation.
