Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Outpatient Pharmacy Technician - Industry City, Brooklyn.
In this role, the successful candidate An Outpatient Pharmacy Technician acts as an assistant to a Licensed Pharmacist by entering prescription data into computer contacting insurance companies filling prescriptions cashier functions ordering of medications communication with appropriate parties patients liaisons clinicians and performing general organization of the pharmacy with attention to inventory control
Job Responsibilities:

bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Answers Resolves and triages inbound inquiries
bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Understanding of 3rd party insurances and follow through of insurance related issues
bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Resolves insurance related issues and assists patients with various forms of financial assistance
bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Professional filling of prescriptions right medication right dosage right amount
bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Identifies medications requiring special storage and/or handling such as hazardous medications and/or refrigerated medications
bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Identify and assembling supplies necessary for selected medications such as sharps containers needles/syringes alcohol swabs band aids
bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Prepares medication for delivery to patients and departments
bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Communicates directly with patients over the phone to assist them in the awareness of their medications
bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Inventory Control maintaining a lean inventory
bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Receiving and unpacking daily order and maintenance of stock
bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Ordering medications and supplies using applicable technology
bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Actively participates in process improvement timelines initiatives
bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Cashier functions
bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Provide outbound therapy/medication adherence check ups
bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Assists with transition of care projects as directed delivery of medications
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma Must be a registered certified pharmacy technician through New York State Minimal 2 years recent experience in retail pharmacy setting strong phone skills highly motivated team player with strong personal and communication skills Excellent attendance at previous or in current work environment.
Required Licenses: Registered NYS Pharmacy Tech, Cert Pharmacy Technician
Preferred Qualifications:
10 years experience or greater as a Pharmacy Technician in a busy chain pharmacy Lead pharmacy technician in a retail chain environment 2 years or greater experience in a Specialty care pharmacy
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $72,219.11 - $73,259.11 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
