Job Summary: We are seeking a proficient Spanish-speaking receptionist to join our dedicated team at a drug treatment facility. The receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for individuals seeking assistance, offering support and guidance to patients and their families. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish and English, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate compassion and empathy in dealing with sensitive situations.
Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction:
Greet and welcome patients, visitors, and families in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Assist in the intake process by collecting and organizing necessary paperwork, ensuring accuracy and completeness of forms.
- Answer phone calls, screen and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff members or departments
- Schedule appointments and manage calendars for counseling sessions, medical consultations, and other services
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Translate and interpret between Spanish-speaking patients and English-speaking staff members as needed.
- Provide general administrative support including filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies inventory.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow within the facility.
Qualifications:
-Fluency in Spanish and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
-Proven experience in a receptionist or customer service role, preferably within a healthcare or social services setting.
-Empathetic and compassionate approach in dealing with individuals facing substance abuse or addiction issues.
-Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
-Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and scheduling software.
-Understanding of and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in handling sensitive information.
-Knowledge of medical terminology or willingness to learn is an advantage.
Education Requirements:
- -High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in office administration or related field is a plus.
- -Prior experience in a similar role within a healthcare, social services, or substance abuse treatment facility is highly desirable.
- -Must pass a background check and adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
Working Conditions:
-Part time with potential to full-time position for evening hours, occasional Saturdays.
-The role involves frequent interaction with individuals facing substance abuse challenges, requiring a non-judgmental and supportive attitude.
