Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Revenue Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical terminology and coding, with a focus on ensuring accurate billing and collections processes within the healthcare sector. This role is essential for maintaining the financial health of our organization by effectively managing revenue cycles and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Duties

• Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding and billing practices.
• Utilize ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG coding systems to assign proper codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Review submitted claims for accuracy
• Conduct timely follow-up and research on all unpaid claims with insurance companies
• Work on insurance appeals and corrected claims correspondence
• Utilize all available portals for claim information
• Create and submit appeals and corrected claims packets, and other disputes, as necessary
• Assist with obtaining pre-authorizations when needed

Requirements

• Proficiency in medical terminology, including familiarity with ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG, and other relevant coding systems.
• Experience in medical billing, collections, or coding within a healthcare setting.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and coding.
• Minimum of 5 years medical billing experience
• Out-of-network billing experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be computer proficient
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with healthcare professionals, patients, and insurance representatives.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience in a medical office or related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
