Job Summary

Advancing the science of orthopedic surgery and its related disciplines through research and education is at the forefront of our practice – reinforcing the mindset of “all things possible.” We currently have an opportunity in Geisinger’s Northeast region to work as a board-certified/board-eligible Hand Surgeon. You would have the opportunity to work with a team including 85 physicians, 90 advanced practitioners and 575 employees, providing comprehensive care for patients with orthopaedic foot and ankle, hand and wrist, elbow and shoulder, hip and knee, sports medicine, trauma and cancer conditions throughout the Musculoskeletal Institute. Through our affiliations, you will not only treat members of our communities but athletes from local high schools and clubs. Position Details
Geisinger’s Northeast Region supports two areas – Wilkes-Barre and Scranton – with a total of 3 hospitals, a multi-disciplinary Healthplex in Pittston (centrally located in-between the two areas), and numerous MSKI outpatient clinics. The ability to work with local semi-professional teams, including Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (a Pittsburgh Penguin minor league hockey farm team) and the Scranton/ the Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (a New York Yankees MLB farm team).
Conveniently located off Interstate 81 in Pittston, Geisinger Healthplex CenterPoint offers a variety of medical services for children and adults including surgery and endoscopy; bone, muscle and joint care; urologic services; eye care and eyewear; and physical and occupational therapy, as well as laboratory and diagnostics. As well as ConvenientCare and orthopaedic urgent care services.
