Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Assistant (RDA or OA) to support our orthodontic team part-time. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth patient experience and assisting with various clinical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the orthodontist during various procedures, including placing and removing braces, applying archwires, and taking impressions.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control standards.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and care for orthodontic appliances.
- Manage patient records, including taking and documenting medical histories and treatment records.
- Ensure that the treatment area is clean, organized, and properly stocked with necessary supplies.
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with the front office staff.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while working with patients, families, and team members.
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Orthodontic Assistant (OA).
- Previous experience in an orthodontic practice preferred, but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of dental and orthodontic terminology and procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proficient in utilizing dental software and technology.
