The Position
This position is key to achieving our customer service objectives. It will include both quality assurance and ensure fulfilment of customer orders, protecting the company's inventory as well as customer's time and needs. As this position cross-trains and brings value in new areas, there is upward mobility optionality.
Job Duties
- Fulfill customer orders by accurately pulling product by using pick tickets.
- Safely and securely pack/palletize products for Will Call pick-up or shipment.
- Accurately, and effectively fill out shipping and receiving paperwork.
- Take part in daily order picking, and truck loading.
- Work hands on with customer Will Call program.
- Responsible for outbound UPS and Fed EX shipments, up to and including generating shipping labels.
- Adhere to all rules, regulations, and procedures outlined in the Joval shipping manual.
- Verify that the truck is accurately checked, securely loaded, and properly closed before considering the job complete, regardless of production departure times.
- Forklift capability or training could be necessary.
- Ensure the shipping and receiving area is kept clean and organized, including general housekeeping tasks.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager.
Minimum Requirements
- Up to 1 year experience working in shipping & procurement or similar role.
- Prior experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Forklift certification a plus
- Minimum 6 months experience with pulling, loading, and securing orders appropriately for shipping.
Physical Conditions & Working Environment
This position occasionally must facilitate the transfer 50 to 100 pounds of metal, using machine assist. Regular transfer of light to heavy metal objects that may have sharp edges from pallets to trucks, etc. is required. Bending at the waist and dragging of parts is regularly required. Propre PPE is required at all times. Utilizing a remote to operate a forklift is required. Near-vision to see and distinguish between small-print, long numbers on labels is essential.
Position is constantly inside a semi-open-air warehouse. In the summers there can be high heat, and low temperatures during the winter months. Although there are mitigating efforts in place around the warehouse.
