Title: Disaster Recovery Systems Engineer

Technical Skills:
- Must be able to build out and test a disaster recovery plan for our Enterprise Content Management System, formally called ApplicationXtender. There is no need for direct experience with ApplicationXtender. It is a generic Windows Server web application with a database backend. It also has some basic licensing and rendering servers in the mix, but they don’t add a lot of complexity to the design.
- Minimum two years of experience designing, delivering, and maintaining systems to production in a team environment required.
- Experience designing and implementing one or more infrastructure systems (e.g., Azure PaaS, Azure IaaS, Windows or Linux servers, SAN, Exchange, IIS, Active Directory, Azure AD, etc.)
- Proficient at using debugging to diagnose code issues in automated scripts. Uses systematic debugging/troubleshooting to diagnose cross-service issues, sometimes with help from more senior engineer
- Excellent Communication and written skills
- Experience building disaster recovery plans and conducting disaster recovery tests to prove efficacy of plans.
- Experience with configuring F5 load balancer VIP, pools, load balancing algorithms.
- Basic Understanding of firewall, networking, and DNS configurations, network troubleshooting.
- Experience creating vulnerability remediation plans and executing on plans with an emphasis on avoiding downtime. Additionally, understanding the purposes of desired state configuration and automated configuration management.
- Ability to work autonomously with little day-to-day oversight. Understands how to unblock themselves by reaching out to members of team or larger organization.
- Collaborative, with the ability to mentor and share information within the team.
- Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and configuring web services. Basic understanding of HTTP(s) protocol response codes.
- Experience using logs to diagnose and fix issues found in production and pre-production environments. Also, ability to look at telemetry for performance characteristics and troubleshooting.
- Prefer Understanding of database technologies, including platforms, authentication, and connectivity, and ability to write basic SQL queries.
- Prefer Minimum two years of experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery patterns, including Infrastructure-as-Code, and tools (e.g., Azure DevOps Services, GitHub Actions, etc.).
- Prefer: Experience implementing security in a multi-tiered application required. Knowledge of more complex security methods required, including database security, web application security, etc.
- Prefer: Experience performing code reviews, pull requests, and following source control standards such as Git Flow or Trunk-Based Development.
- Experience sharing technical work in front of technically adept audiences.
- Be available on an on-call basis to respond to pending issues or problems arising during non-business hours and provide support and response.
