Oracle DBA Transitioning to Development - Pioneering Evolution

Pioneering Evolution is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator looking to transition into Software Development. Use your skills as a DBA, but acquire new skills as a programmer, contributing to the development of a key software application.

In this position, you will be hired as a DBA, working part time to manage the databases, but you will work the other half of the day honing your skills as a software developer for the Department of Defense. 

SKILLS

• Ability to migrate 11g to 19c in a single step.    
• Working knowledge of database automation using scripting    
• Dedication to continuity of service    
• Weekly and monthly health reports.    
• Expert knowledge of Data Pump    
• Expert knowledge of SQL loader    
• Ability to meet server STIGs and implement DoD policies    
• Daily attendance at 9:30 Scrum and other key meetings    
• Ability to effectively communicate and work with management, customers and technical staff to analyzing and resolve problems and issues    
• Agile methodologies    
• Experience with cloud-based hosted services    
• Experience with Git version control    
• Experience with Docker containers    
• MySQL experience    
• Knowledge of other JavaScript Frameworks (Angular, React, etc…)    
• Knowledge of PHP frameworks (v7.4+ preferred).

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years experience as an Oracle DBA    
• Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) for 19c    
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT related discipline (or 4 years equivalent experience for a total of 9+ years)    
• Security+ or equivalent certification (or better)    
• Must be local to Washington D.C. metro area and willing to come into the office (at least 3 times a week)    
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret security clearance
