Job Title: Oracle DBA
Job Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Education: Bachelor’s (BS) degree in technical studies such as computer science, information systems, programming, or a related field. This education is not a requirement but may be substituted with years of experience.
Clearance: An active DoD Secret Clearance is required.
Specific Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain Oracle database environments, including installation, configuration, and patch management.
Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to ensure optimal throughput and responsiveness.
Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls, data encryption, and auditing mechanisms.
Conduct database capacity planning and forecasting to accommodate future growth and changing business requirements.
Develop and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity.
Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries, database code, and stored procedures for improved performance.
Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in Oracle database administration and recommend their adoption as appropriate.
Create and maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Project-Specific Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
Minimum of 12 years of experience in a related field.
Active Secret Clearance.
Desired:
Certification in Oracle Database Administration or Certified Professional (Oracle).
RAC & Grid Certified Expert or equivalent certification.
Proven experience as an Oracle DBA in enterprise environments.
Knowledge of Oracle Exadata.
Familiarity with programming languages such as Python to support scripting.
Availability for on-site work if required.
Strong team player and quick learner with the ability to work independently and support mission-critical operations across geographically diverse locations.
