Job Title: Oracle Database Administrator
Client: Health Care Industry
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Owing Mills MD 21117(Mandatory- 100% remote however the resource must reside in District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia(DMV)
Purpose:
- Design, implement, and maintain databases (access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection, security, documentation, statistical methods).
- Maintain database dictionaries and integrate systems through database design.
- Maintain and document shell scripts and batch processes.
- Ensure complete and up-to-date documentation.
- Develop and apply procedures for periodic database backup.
Essential Functions:
- 20%: Implement designs and structures provided by Systems and Data Architects; perform installation of software and hardware environments; create and maintain schedules for software maintenance and upgrades.
- 15%: Prepare appropriate dimensional data structures and provide logical interfaces for the extract/transform/load process.
- 15%: Maintain database availability, backup, and recovery.
- 15%: Monitor database performance and assist with database security.
- 15%: Develop and implement techniques to prevent system problems, troubleshoot incidents, and support root cause analysis.
- 10%: Validate, load, test, and verify data; perform complete functional testing of database structures and verify information across all environments (development, test, production).
- 10%: Provide project management support for technical aspects of project release upgrades, following project life cycle, developing project plans, and completing documentation and notifications for timely resolution.
Qualifications:
- Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or IT-related field.
- Experience: 3 years using relational databases and retrieving data for management and reporting duties.
- In Lieu of Education: Additional 4 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications (KSAs):
- Proficient knowledge of Oracle and similar databases.
- Effective communication skills with analysts, developers, testers, and project managers (oral and written).
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- High-level analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Proficiency in structured query language (SQL).
