Important Note: Remote options available, but locals are highly preferred.
Overview:
Our client is seeking a Database Administrator II to ensure the integrity, performance, and efficiency of database systems across the enterprise. This role will involve monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining databases, as well as executing backups, upgrades, and migrations. The position may be remote, but candidates in the Springfield, MA region are preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and remediate level 1 database alerts and job failures.
Perform database incident response and root cause analysis.
Execute backup and restore processes across multiple environments.
Assist with Oracle database upgrades, automation, and performance tuning.
Troubleshoot server health, security, and performance issues.
Ensure compliance with database standards, policies, and best practices.
Required Skills and Experience:
1-3 years in IT, with at least 1 year of Oracle 19c experience in multi-server environments (on-prem/cloud).
Basic understanding of database administration, including installation and configuration.
Familiarity with SQL Server and high availability/DR solutions (e.g., Always On Availability Groups) is a plus.
Experience with SQL Sentry or performance tuning is preferred.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Additional Functions:
Some SQL / Azure Managed Instance server experience is desirable.
Provide cross-functional assistance as needed to other operational areas of FPI (Financial Partners Inc).
