About the Job
Clinical Director: Part to Full-time Optometrist to support Lasik Vision Centers of Cleveland.
SPECIFIC TASKS: Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Refractive surgery co-management including preoperative examination, routine postoperative management, and management of postoperative complications in accordance with the community standard of care.
- Full scope primary optometric care in accordance with the community standard of care and American Optometric Association (AOA) clinical guidelines.
- Accurately transcribe into the patient medical record, past ocular history, adverse drug reactions, allergies, etc., according to established techniques and procedures. Identifies patient’s chief complaint, provides a written assessment of findings. Diagnosis and recommendations should be appropriate for the complaint and clinical findings. Appropriate follow-up should be indicated, patient education must be documented, and provider stamp and signature must be present.
- Be responsible for the safe and effective operation of equipment used in patient care and contributing to a safe working environment. This shall include safe practices of emergency procedures, proper handling of hazardous materials and maintaining physical security.
- Diagnostic Pharmaceutical Use: Provide accurate documentation of specific medication used, dosage and time given. Document any adverse reaction.
- Must be able to foresee best procedure for each candidate (i.e. Implantable Collamer Lens vs Clear Lens Exchange, LASIK vs PRK and Corneal Crosslinking candidates).
Education:
- Doctor of Optometry.
- Graduate from a school or college approved by the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE) of the American Optometric Association.
- Possess a certification to use Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents.
