Optometrist at Peepers Family Eye Care

Job Overview: We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Part-Time Optometrist (with potential for full-time) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will provide top-tier eye care services, ensuring the well-being of our patients and contributing to the success of our practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough eye exams to evaluate vision and ocular health
• Diagnose and treat visual disorders, diseases, and conditions
• Prescribe corrective eyewear (eyeglasses, contact lenses) and other visual aids as needed
• Educate patients on best practices for maintaining healthy vision
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records

Required Skills:

• Proficient in conducting eye exams, vision tests, and interpreting results
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and ocular anatomy and physiology
• Skilled in operating optical systems and diagnostic equipment
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient care
• Ability to make informed recommendations for eyewear solutions
• Sales experience to help guide patients in selecting eyewear options
• Knowledge of Eyefinity EHR is a plus
• Medical Optometry helpful

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution
• State licensure in good standing
• Previous experience in a clinical optometry setting is preferred

Position Details:

• Job Type: Part-time (with potential to transition to full-time)
• Pay:$75.00 to $125.00 per hour
• Expected Hours: 12 – 24 hours per week
• Schedule:

  • 4-hour or 8-hour shifts available
  • Weekend availability as needed
