About the Job
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience working in the imaging and optics technical environment, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP).
- Experience with one or more of the following optical modeling tools: Finite-difference time-domain (FDTD), Rigorous Coupled Wave Analysis (RCWA), Ray-tracing, or Zemax OpticStudio.
- Experience in Python or other programming languages.
- Experience with display systems.
- Experience with waveguide based near-eye displays.

In this role, you will work alongside a team of experienced optical engineers to help evaluate and develop novel designs/architectures related to these displays, and work with both internal and external partners to validate and deliver these prototypes and products.

- Work with internal and external cross-functional partners to explore existing and novel optical architectures, for near-eye display and related applications.
- Define system/sub-system/component-level specifications for new eye displays and related systems.
- Evaluate, design and improve waveguide based near-eye display systems.
- Align current efforts with cross-functional teams across System, PhotoDetector, Software, imaging, and optics.
- Support internal optics modeling and simulation efforts.
