The Ophthalmic Training & Development Specialist will design, develop and facilitate soft-skills, performance management, and leadership training experiences with a focus on application and engagement. The role will help to conduct needs analysis to determine training priorities and provide consultation to business units to determine business, team and individual requirements.

This position will require flexibility, strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to lead and implement a wide range of projects. Ability to travel up to 80% is a must - primarily involving Maryland, DC, VA, and PA.
Responsibilities:What You Will Do:
- Coordinates, schedules, and administers technician training programs and calendars.
- Works closely with internal business and HR management to ensure the effective delivery of high-quality technician programs.
- Measures the effectiveness and impact of technician training programs, including the application of new skills.
- Acts as primary training and education resource, while demonstrating effective questioning skills and techniques and responding appropriately to learner needs for clarification and feedback.
- Observes training classes and workshops conducted by other designated instructors in order to evaluate effectiveness of instructor and curriculum content, and to provide quality constructive feedback.
- Obtains and directs consulting services to support the delivery of cost-effective technician training programs and services.
- Assist in EHR trainings and Go Live support at practice locations.
- Provide emergency technician coverage to practices in need on a case by case basis.
What You Will Bring:
- COA, COT, or COMT is preferred.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the field of Ophthalmology is required.
- Strong platform, facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel up to 80% weekly - primarily involving Maryland, DC, VA, and PA.
$55,000.00- $65,000.00 Annually
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as, but not limited to full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility, annual educational reimbursement, and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO).
