The Eye Institute Ophthalmology Practice is an integral component of the Ambulatory Care Network. It is a multispecialty practice providing consultative services which include general ophthalmology, pediatric ophthalmology, contact lens/low vision, cornea and external disease, eye muscle, glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, orbital and plastic, retina, uveitis and diagnostic services-visual field testing. Ophthalmic Technologist - Adult Eye Clinic - ACN - Columbia - Day Flex
Work with state-of-the-art equipment and learn from the best in a fast-paced, challenging environment where you can grow and develop your skills. On a daily basis, the Ophthalmic Technologist performs a variety of clinical functions to assist practitioners. This is a technical position with no supervisory responsibility. Additionally, this position will engage patients by proactively welcoming them and explaining test / imaging process and interacting in a way that fosters and reinforces their well-being, safety, and confidence. As a technologist, you will perform imaging including, but not limited to fluorescein angiography, fundus photography, ocular ultrasound, optical coherence tomography, ICG angiography, slit lamp photography, corneal mapping, biometry/IOL calculation, specular biomicroscopy including confocal imaging, and new equipment as utilized in the practice. This is a technical, patient facing position.
This full-time position could work as early as 7:30 AM to as late as 7:00 PM, working 7.5-hour days with no weekends or holidays.
Preferred Criteria
- Relevant ophthalmic certification - Certified Diagnostic Ophthalmic Sonographer (CDOS) from International Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (IJCAHPO), Certified Retinal Angiographer (CRA) from Ophthalmic Photographer's Society, Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT-C) Imaging also from Ophthalmic Photographer's Society, and Registered Ophthalmic Ultrasound Biometrist (ROUB) also from IJCAHPO
- CPR certified.
Required Criteria
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant through the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant or Technologist
