Ophthalmic Technician Ophthalmic practice

Pay From: $25 Per Hour
MUST:
2+years of experience as an Ophthalmic Tech in an Ophthalmic practice site
Experience performing various Ophthalmic exams including slit lamp, visual fields, color vision tests, lensometry, tonometry, Keratometry, refractometry
Rooming patients and obtaining histories
Scribing for providers
Assisting with surgical procedures
Handling dilations
Experience obtaining pre-auths and scheduling appointments
Certification (COT) or (COA)
Completion of a two-year certified ophthalmic assistant program preferred
BLS
DUTIES:
The duties of the Ophthalmic Tech include but are not limited to the following:
Room patients
Obtain medical history
Check patient visual acuity
Handle dilations
Perform various exams including slit lamp, visual fields, color vision tests, lensometry, tonometry, keratometry and refractometry
Provide photography support
Assist with surgical procedures
Handle scribing
Clean and stock rooms
Prepare instruments for sterilization
Obtain authorizations
Handle chart prep
Schedule appointments
