Overview:The Operator III - Fulfillment WIP/Sample plays a key role in fulfilling critical responsibilities associated with ensuring work-in-process (WIP) orders (i.e.- Sample Kits; market Returns; 3rd party orders, labelling) are fulfilled per the production plan on-time and complete for both domestic and international. The responsibility of the WIP/Sample Operator is to ensure proper inventory control and management of all partial products and picking activities to fulfill sample orders. Additionally, this role supports placing labels, reworking finished products, and fulfilling international orders when necessary.
Qualifications:EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
- 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; food and beverage manufacturing experience preferred.
- 2+ years in warehousing or order fulfillment environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to follow work instructions, as well as Safety, Quality, and Company policies.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to work around and with hand-held, manual, and moving equipment i.e., conveyors, case packing, pallet jacks, and other machinery.
- Ability to use a tape gun, box cutter, and other small tools.
- Ability to use computers, scanners, and order-picking software.
- Ability to recognize number sequences, lot numbers, date codes, and other data visually and accurately.
- Ability to work independently with general supervision as well as work in a diverse, fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
- Ability to be flexible and take on assignments as required.
- Ability to interact well with other staff members and in alignment with the company’s overall goals.
- Ability to have a positive, can-do attitude, strong work ethic, and be reliable and punctual.
WORKING CONDITIONS: This position works in a food manufacturing environment and requires the ability to adhere to all GMP, Food Safety, workplace safety, and security policies including wearing required personal protective equipment, as well hair net, beard net, steel or composite toe shoes, safety glasses etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to visually detect, identify, and effectively communicate product deviations to lead or manager.
- Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors
- Ability to perform repetitive motions for extended periods with hands and fingers.
- Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment by Quality and Safety policies.
- The position requires the ability to perform repetitive motions with hands and fingers, walk, stand on concrete floors, regularly lift to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to carry cardboard and other items to the compactor.
- Ability to work and perform picking of frozen items and stocking inventory stock in a walk-in, -10 degree freezer.
- Ability to achieve and maintain a valid forklift license issued by the company.
- Ensures “partials” warehouse area is clean, organized, and adheres to 5S standards and practices. Taking the cardboard to the compactor
- Works with the supply chain team to fulfill work orders issued for completion. Delivers orders complete and on time.
- Picks and stages all sample orders.
- Fulfill orders; Sample kits, Market returns, Rework orders, and labeling of third-party products.
- As required, supports fulfillment and warehousing operators.
- Monitors FIFO “partials” warehouse inventory quantity (i.e.- inventory accuracy) and quality (i.e.- expiration dates) and reports anomalies to the supervisor.
- Alerts quality of any quality issues relating to product fulfillment such as expired, damaged, rework, or scrap inventory.
- Informs supply chain of scrap and rework inventories and works with them to get product dispositioned promptly.
- Communicate with the warehouse to ensure product is available to process WIP orders for fulfillment.
- Understanding Department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Safety, Quality and Logistics.
- Maintain food safety and food quality by completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.
- Communicates with department manager about department needs and observations.
- Attends all required daily team reviews and training relevant to the job provided either internally or externally.
- Other duties as requested.
