Shift: 12 hour rotating
Pay Rate: $32.59 – $36.68
Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the supervisor, an individual will be expected to troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, assemble, install, relocate or modify complex mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow prescribed safety procedures so as to prevent injury to self and others and to maintain safe equipment and conditions in entire plant.
- Have a thorough knowledge of maintenance procedures and operating standards.
- Know the location of all switches, valves, tools and emergency equipment in assigned area.
- Attend and satisfactorily complete training courses as prescribed by management and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain a safe and clean working area.
- Report all accidents, incidents, injuries and unsafe acts or conditions to the supervisor immediately.
- Perform all other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete certification program for Senior Mechanic prior to employment.
- Thorough knowledge of, and ability to correctly use, all hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to work with a small crew.
- Ability to perform non-certified structural quality welding using a variety of alloy rods.
- Ability to read and interpret complicated assembly drawings and maintenance manuals.
- Ability to set gear backlash and tooth contact patterns.
- Ability to align multiple couplings.
- Must be able to use a personal computer and utilize all maintenance and supply screens as determined by management.
- Must be physically able to expend considerable effort to perform assigned tasks.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Could be exposed to working conditions such as inclement weather, heat, cold, noise, vibration, dust, dirt, fumes, water, oil and heights. Where conditions require, protective equipment will be issued to the employee.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Mechanical Maintenance Degree and/ or Certificates are preferred. Minimum of two years general maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment including gear box repair, bearing replacement, pneumatics, hydraulics, and welding are required. Welding experience and/ or education is required.
