Operations Technician - Pasco
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Operations Technician Trainee position is located at Marathon’s Pasco, WA facility. This position works in and around petroleum products facilities executing Operations & Logistics, Damage Prevention, Right of Way Relations activities, and Terminal Rack duties. The successful candidate will perform such duties as: facilitating and monitoring pipeline movements and conducting product sampling; tank switches and cuts; assure accordance with all regulations in support of DOT, assisting carriers or drivers at the loading rack, maintaining VCU equipment, dock operations, Environmental, Safety and Regulatory compliance. Travel, call-outs, and overtime will be required on an as-needed basis. Marathon Pipe Line LLC operates more than 6000 miles of underground pipeline in 20 states. The successful candidate is required to live within 45 minutes of the reporting location (Pasco, WA).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Operations Technician will perform tasks associated with pipeline, terminal and dock activities, measurements, perform routine stations checks, respond to and resolve station alarms and communicate findings to appropriate parties, respond to right of way conflicts, generate computerized work requests for maintenance tasks, coordinate and communicate maintenance activities, complete all required training, and perform work in a safe and environmentally conscious manner in accordance with all Environmental, Safety and Regulatory requirements.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- An Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills is expected. Previous pipeline experience with emphasis on electrical/mechanical is highly preferred.
- Must be willing to work a 12-hour rotating shift and nights.
Successful candidate will be required to get a TWIC.
Successful candidate will be required to submit to a background check that includes a Motor Vehicle Report.
