This tremendous opportunity is for an individual who is passionate about driving critical business results, improving their professional network within Schreiber, and sharpening their overall enterprise business accumen. The purpose of this position is to help drive superior results thru network stability and process discipline initiatives, category growth projects, and next level operational excellence efforts. This position reports directly to the VP/Director of Operations and maintains close working relationships with the Plant Manager group and the EPM, PE, Engineering and Supply Chain teams. These individuals will often take on the role of "Delegated Process Owner" for VP/Directors/Plant Manager on Schreibers most critical projects involving operations. This position interfaces with many cross functional areas of the business but heavily with Supply Chain, PLS, and FP&A.
Key high level outputs of the position include providing support for operation network processes, continuous improvement, network optimization, business brief/proposition development, improving operations process discipline, business plan related efforts, drive strategic growth and implement network profitability and quality intitiatvies. Also includes efforts around standardization, best practice sharing, implementation of sustainable processes, enhancing operational excellence, critical project leadership, process design and optimization, cross functional business support, and operations leadership.
This team resource provides critical information to the Senior Operations leadership team (VP/Director and Plant Managers). This information is key to establishing strategic and tactical activities for the category by connecting the detailed world of big data (and the manufacturing floor) with higher level network strategy set by Senior Leadership. An individual successful in this role will become a highly sought after resource from our plant leadership teams and home office operations. Therefore, we are looking for someone who works very well with partners from all areas and all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate has a combination of skills that bridge Plant Leadership, EPM, PE, Engineeing and Supply Chain spaces.
Growing EPM, PE, business accumen and indirect/facilitative leadership skill sets in a flexible, adapatable, hands-on manner will be an individual growth priority for this individual. From a career progression standpoint, individuals can choose to make an amazing career out of this role by advancing within the role progression or it can feed into SME, TL, Ops Manager, Tech Manager, Plant Manager and Director roles.
What you'll do:
- Drive and support projects/initiatives tied to operations business commitments and top priorities set by senior operations leadership. Includes activities in the project and continuous improvement environments. Actively engage in various activities/roles such as project manager, process owner, project performer, start up and ramp up leads/support. Also includes concept development related work, scheduling, financial analysis, resource planning, work definition, baselining, data mining and analysis, and results reporting.
- Drive category operational excellence to enable fluid, seamless rollout and adoption of standards and best practices with speed and consistency front of mind. Create processes and structures that ensure sustainability to the highest levels of executional excellence. Use various methods and techniques to analyze/data mine the business from the cost side to ensure we driving to be the best version of ourselves.
- Become an expert in the category from an operations technical and process design standpoint. Share expertise and activity learnings across all category line to support competency development across operations network.
- Provide indirect, influential and facilitative leadership to the operations category. You accomplish this by engaging in miscellaneous operational activities while working closely with the Naturals category operations senior leadership team and plant leaders/partners.
What you will need to succeed:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years experience in Plant Operations Leadership (flexible based on total skillset and experience).
- Project related experience in plant environment required
- Specified category experience required along with history of generating business results.
- Ability to constructively interact with operations partners from production floor to Director level.
- Brings strong technical and/or process capabilities and focus to the operations network team
- Project and continuous improvement environment skillsets
- Must be a self starter, able to self manage and self lead
- Flexibility and Adaptability - willingness to do anything that drives organizational value in role.
- 100% team player mindset. Leadership style/approach must be highly servant.
- Ability to develop and maintain great working relationships in a plant and corporate environment.
- Strong or developing influential and facilitative leadership skills
- Displays an eagerness to learn. Has a natural curiousity around continuous improvement opportunities
- Demonstrates a basic understanding of how supply chain and financial fundamentals impact the operations environment.
- Ability to lead/achieve results in stable and unstable settings as well as familiar and unfamiliar settings.
- Willingness to travel --> 25% - 50% on an annual basis
