Operations Manager
Minimum 5 Years experience as a Operations Manager
Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager to fill an opening with a manufacturing company located in Metro Detroit. The ideal candidates should have Operations Management experience with a focus on Continuous Improvement and strong leadership skills.
Requirements of the Operations Manager
- (3-5)+ years of experience and success in machine shop / tool & die operations or manufacturing engineering leadership
- Bachelor s degree in operations management, business, engineering is highly preferred.
- Experience in international business operations is a plus.
- Demonstrated understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
- Highly proficient in business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).
- Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
- Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes
- Must be able to build, maintain and contribute to a team environment.
- Leads by example and demonstrates servant leadership.

Responsibilities of the Operations Manager
- Assist in planning, organizing, directing, and running optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers expectations.
- Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
- Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping.
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
- Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions; commit to plant safety procedures.
- Share a trusting relationship with the employees and partner with Human Resources to recruit, manage and develop plant employees.
- Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime.
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
- Create documentation protocols and ensure that all records of operations are properly maintained and reviewed.
- Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts.
