Position Summary:
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production and operational activities within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing facility. This role manages a team of four supervisors and a total workforce of 100 employees to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor ensures that all production processes align with organizational goals and meet customer demands. Key responsibilities include supervising workflow, managing production schedules, coordinating with various departments, and maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Production and Workflow Management
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to ensure optimal efficiency, adherence to schedules, and achievement of production targets.
- Oversee equipment usage, materials handling, and labor allocation to maximize output while minimizing waste.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure machines are operating efficiently and report any issues promptly for resolution.
Quality and Safety Compliance
- Enforce safety protocols and procedures in accordance with OSHA and company standards, ensuring a safe work environment.
- Monitor production quality and work with Quality Assurance teams to identify and address issues, maintaining the highest standards of product integrity.
Continuous Improvement
- Analyze production metrics to identify areas for improvement in processes, product quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead process improvement initiatives and implement lean manufacturing practices to enhance operational efficiency.
Team Leadership and Development
- Supervise, train, and mentor a team of four subordinate supervisors and 100 production team members, promoting a high-performance culture.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address performance issues.
- Support recruitment efforts by interviewing and onboarding new employees, fostering an environment of growth and development.
Inventory and Resource Management
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, coordinating with supply chain and procurement teams as needed.
- Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping of inventory and production data to facilitate smooth operations and support decision-making.
Reporting and Communication
- Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, quality control, and safety metrics to senior management.
- Communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and troubleshoot any production issues or delays.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing or production environment, with 2+ years in a supervisory or team leadership role. Experience in the automotive or engine component manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality assurance, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in manufacturing software (e.g., ERP systems) and MS Office.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
- Problem-solving abilities with experience in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Certifications (preferred): Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), or equivalent are a plus.

REFERRAL BONUS PROGRAM:
