Our client, a leading company in the sneaker care industry, is seeking an Operations Manager for their US location in Niles, IL. The Operations Manager oversees all aspects of the US Distribution Centre ensuring goods are received accurately and within the governed timeframes from suppliers. Responsibilities include ensuring sales across the USA are fulfilled correctly, warehouse stock is correctly looked after, and warehouse is fully compliant with all aspects of storing and shipping dangerous goods.
This is a Direct Hire opportunity, which pays a yearly salary of $80,000, as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision).

Operations Manager Responsibilities:
- Arranging and receiving shipments from worldwide suppliers tasks including, but not limited to creating shipping documentation, arranging carriers, supporting customs clearance, physically receiving shipments, and receiving the goods into the system.
- The preparation of all sales shipments from the US Distribution Centre. This will include creating relevant shipping documentation, arranging carriers, and ensuring the stock is picked and packed correctly following all pertinent shipping regulations. This will encompass both B2B and B2C shipments as well as all relevant communications with internal and external teams and customers.
- The safe and accurate storage of all goods within the US Distribution Centre. This will ensure all dangerous goods are stored safely in accordance with local laws, all goods are labeled and stored correctly, ensuring they can be easily accessed to fulfill orders.
- Ensuring stock levels are kept accurate at all times by completing regular stock counts and maintaining regular stock reports.
- Overseeing the processing of component pieces and the reworking of finished items to create completed items and packs for sale.
- Relabelling of goods to ensure that they conform with regional and/or distributors' regulations and can be sold.
- Processing returns quickly and accurately to maintain stock records.
- Performing risk assessments for staff and overseeing the maintenance of all equipment, racking, and spaces.
- General management admin duties include (but are not limited to) checking and approving invoices, authorizing staff holidays, ordering consumables, etc.
- Overseeing staffing needs including the hiring of additional short/fixed-term staff as and when needed.
- General warehouse management duties including (but not limited to) annual insurance reviews, warehouse security, and ensuring compliance with the local authorities.
- Any other ad-hoc duties that may be required to support the business.
- Previous experience in a similar role managing a warehouse/distribution center is required.
- Change management experience.
- Experience in receiving shipments from international locations.
- Experience working with WMS and ERP systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
