About the Job
Medical Technologist (Rankin County Hospital District) (Rankin, TX):
Perform routine lab testing on patients, including obtaining specimens; Follow routine maintenance on laboratory analyzers; Perform daily quality control on analyzers; Report abnormal lab results to providers; Weekly inventory of laboratory supplies; Perform routine proficiency testing; Maintain a safe and appropriate working area; Perform routine urinalysis; Attend to all STAT requests; and Comply with and practice all hospital and departmental safety, disaster, hazard, and quality improvement policies. Must have experience with the following in order to complete the above-mentioned tasks: Knowledge of automated platelet analyzers, chemistry analyzers, coagulation analyzers, medical software, photometers, immunology machines, hematology machines and microbiology/identification techniques; Ability to troubleshoot and maintain lab equipment; Experience working with medical software and laboratory interfaces; Ability to collect and process body fluid specimens including blood, urine, sputum, and nasopharyngeal collections in a safe and expedient manner; and Knowledge of standard clinical criteria. Requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science or related field, and at least 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist or related occupation. Requires current certification as a Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist. Salary: $21.86 - $36.96 per hour. Please send C.V. to jhorton@rankincountyhospital.com.
