Job Description:
The Operations Manager will manage overall operations and is responsible for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control, and safety measures for the Mobile Learning project. The experienced operations manager will ensure safe and efficient operations, while also teaching, facilitating play, and modeling exemplary lessons for vulnerable children living in motel shelters. The ideal candidate will use their passion for creating innovative and integrative approaches to help execute our mobile learning programs, streamline day to day operations, quantify impact, produce reports, and gather relevant data for monitoring and evaluation.
About the Initiative:
Amal Alliance, Horizons for Homeless, and Neighborhood Villages together are piloting a Mobile Learning initiative to provide a coordinated systematic approach for supporting under-school-age children who have recently arrived in the US by providing a combination of coordinated services, social and emotional programming, and a safe, developmentally appropriate space to children and families. The goal of the Mobile Learning Initiative is to meet families where they are, learn about their needs and connect them with the resources that can get their children acclimated to life in the US. By focusing on a specific catchment zone, the Mobile Learning program will consist of a staffed Horizons playspace and two mobile learning buses that will provide access to developmentally appropriate and trauma-informed social and emotional learning and play experiences to support their health and wellbeing by traveling to different shelter-based programs within a small geographic area.
Roles & Responsibilities:
â— Serve as the operational manager and bus leader for the mobile learning team.
â— Be able and willing to drive a school bus (Commercial Driver's License is not needed).
â—‹ Valid driver's license with clean driving record
â— Directly manages mobile learning staff.
â— Plan, assign, and motivate staff, while addressing any performance issues or corrective actions needed.
â— Facilitate educational sessions for children ages 0-2 and 3-5, focusing on Colors of Kindness and Playspace programming.
â— Monitor learner progress, identify challenges, and support overall goals.
â— Ensure the mobile learning environment is clean, equipment is stored properly, and resources are managed effectively.
â— Facilitate training for staff, parents, and partners.
â— Communicate with all related entities and partners to foster positive relationships for other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The operations manager requires a bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, early childhood care, or other related field. Advanced degrees preferred.
The candidate should be able to:
â— Show the ability to lead, communicate effectively, and motivate a diverse team.
â— Have fluency in English, and either Haitian Creole or Spanish
â— Show proficiency in making strategic decisions and managing staff effectively.
â— Be skilled in solving problems, planning, organizing, and critical thinking.

â— Have a team-oriented approach, promoting a collaborative working environment.

â— Understand and appropriately respond to the needs of other staff, parents, children, visitors.
â— Be responsible for vehicle/equipment maintenance, managing supplies, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
â— Demonstrate experience in setting, implementing, and following through with policies, procedures, and strategic plans, including workforce management and process improvement.
â— Have strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate reports and analyze data to make informed decisions.
â— Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to enforce safety standards and legal regulations, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
â— Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
â— Need to be technologically proficient to track programmatic data through pre, mid, and post surveys.
â— Be willing to travel on the mobile bus to various locations statewide.
â— Must possess a good record with no history of abuse or crimes.
Term, Commitment, & Mobile Working Conditions:
â— The candidate will serve 12 Months and report to the Director of Mobile Learning.
â— Individual agrees to abide by the vision and goals of Amal Alliance, including all Protection Against Sexual Violence and Explotation (PSEA) and safeguarding policies.
â— Candidates will report to the Marlborough Hub to depart to assigned sites for each day of the week on the bus.

Compensation:
Amal Alliance is committed to providing competitive compensation and benefits commensurate with the professional qualifications and responsibilities of its staff. The annual salary for this position is $75,000.
