The April Parker Foundation is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to uplifting historically underserved BIPOC communities in Orange and Los Angeles Counties. We support individuals, families, veterans, and small businesses through culturally relevant programs and services that strengthen and empower our community. As we expand, we’re seeking an Operations Manager to help enhance our operational efficiency and ensure our programs run smoothly.
About the role
The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of our organization, ensuring that our programs and services are delivered efficiently and effectively. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Operations Manager will be responsible for improving operational procedures, managing resources, and supporting staff and program managers to optimize our impact. This is a full-time role suited for someone with a strong background in nonprofit operations, team leadership, and organizational management.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement processes that improve overall efficiency and streamline operations across the organization.
- Oversee the allocation and management of resources (equipment, facilities, supplies) to support program delivery and organizational needs.
- Collaborate with program managers to support their operational needs, ensuring they have the tools and resources necessary to achieve program goals.
- Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and organizational transparency.
- Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and external partners to ensure quality service and cost-effectiveness.
- Assist the finance team with budgeting and expense management, ensuring operational costs stay within budget.
- Address and resolve any operational issues or bottlenecks that may hinder the effectiveness of programs or services.
- Identify areas for improvement within our operational framework and suggest actionable steps to enhance our processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience in nonprofit operations is also valuable.
- 3-5 years of experience in an operations management role, preferably within a nonprofit or community-focused organization.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in operational software (e.g., project management tools, CRM systems).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Problem-solving mindset and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Financial literacy and experience with budgeting or cost management.

Salary Range
$85,000 - $100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
