About the Job
As the Operations Manager for Northern California at Statehouse, you assume a pivotal role overseeing comprehensive inventory management and ensuring the efficient and compliant functioning of our retail businesses in the region. Key responsibilities encompass overseeing accurate and compliant inventory and receiving processes, scheduling and supervising inventory reconciliations and audits, participating in the recruitment and training of personnel, establishing and upholding Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for operational excellence, proactively collaborating with procurement, marketing, and senior management to optimize stock levels and deploy marketing assets effectively. Additionally, the role involves working closely with managers to gather, review, compile, and submit product needs requests, managing asset printing, and overseeing the allocation and shipment of assets for retail teams. Availability to open and close locations, as well as stepping in as a store manager when necessary, is imperative. This position demands a strong understanding of cannabis compliance and regulations, with a primary focus on managing retail store inventory and operations in alignment with company goals and objectives.
The Operations Manager reports directly to the Regional Manager.
This would be based out of our San Jose location.
Breakdown of Duties and Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
· Develop, implement, and maintain effective inventory management procedures and protocols.
· Oversee the accurate tracking of all cannabis products, including flower, edibles, concentrates, and accessories.
· Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and ensure inventory remains well-stocked while minimizing overstock and waste.
· Work with Ecommerce team for accurate representation of store inventory.
Compliance and Regulations:
· Stay current with all local and state cannabis regulations to ensure compliance in all operations.
· Work closely with the compliance team to manage the compliance aspects of inventory control and reporting.
Team Management:
· Supervise and train inventory operations staff, ensuring they follow best practices and comply with all company policies.
· Collaborate with Delivery team to ensure efficiency in operations
· Collaborate with data team in ensuring discounts are setup correctly in the retail environment.
· Work closely with the store teams, procurement and marketing teams to collect credits for promos and waste
· Create a collaborative and motivated team that strives for excellence and operational efficiency
Reporting and Analysis:
· Generate regular reports on inventory levels, sales trends, and product performance.
· Analyze data to identify areas for improvement, cost-saving opportunities, and revenue growth.
· Assist in managing the product and discount catalogs
Supply Chain Coordination:
· Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain.
· Coordinate orders and deliveries to maintain optimal inventory levels and minimize disruptions.
· Coordinate internally with procurement team on shipment status and inventory availability
Audits and Loss Prevention:
· Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly
· Partner with Store Managers and inventory teams to implement loss prevention strategies and investigate any inventory discrepancies.
Visual Merchandising:
· Ensure all visual merchandising adheres to company standards
· Create Monthly Store Visual Guides to present to leadership
· Assist in display buildouts and POP standardization
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of inventory management and/or store manager expericene, with knowledge of cannabis and cannabis products.
- Knowledge Cannabis POS Systems such as Dutchie.
- Advanced knowledge of METRC system.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft excel.
- Must be comfortable learning new skills.
- Must have a hands-on, proactive management style.
- Strong understanding of local and state cannabis laws, as well as BCC regulations.
- Must be highly adaptable and comfortable with an environment that can change rapidly.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage numerous priorities effectively.

Education:
Must have one or more of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university
- Four years’ relevant experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- Valid Driver’s license

- Occasionally small and/or enclosed spaces.
Compensation for this position will be $80,000.
