About the Job
Plan, direct and coordinate the operations of BradyPLUS to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel by performing the following duties personally or through associates. The Operations Manager will oversee all Central Sanitary Supply Operations Employees in Modesto, Fresno and Bakersfield. The Operations Manager Candidate can reside in either Modesto, CA or Fresno, CA.
Responsibilities Include:
- Supervises, trains, provides guidance, assigns duties, reviews, and assists team members.
- Directs appropriate staff personnel to effect specific warehouse/operations/facility responsibilities. Maintains optimal human relationships, in positions under union jurisdiction. Maintains operations equipment to achieve maximal life and corporate payback on investment in such equipment.
- Oversees the efficient receipt, slotting and storage of incoming goods/product, maintenance of inventory integrity, and accurate picking and shipping of outgoing goods in multiple locations.  All of these areas are subject to specific performance standards.
- Meets guidelines for all federal, state, and local standards and laws that may apply to operations/warehousing/facility including reporting of it, certification, and training. Coordinates training and development for the function.
- Assists in design and maintains and effectively utilizes the Warehouse Management System, and training in it. Responsible for and maintains all records relating to the function.
- Develops and effects appropriate cost efficiencies in warehousing/operations, personnel, inventory management, transportation, and other areas under direct control.
- Maintains effective vendor relationships.
- Ability to manage and build teams and communicates effectively at all levels across BradyPLUS.
- Manage cross functional projects and new account implementations as needed by management.
- Works with the Transportation Team to ensure optimal transportation performance and expense reduction across all modes of transportation.
- Ensures compliance with established internal control procedures by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation.
- Conducts financial report analysis and cost control related to DC operations.
- Implement detailed schedules to ensure targeted deadlines are met.
- Accountable for coordinating with various internal departments (i.e., accounting, sales, and marketing) to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Assists staff in completing daily duties in a timely manner as necessary. Duties may include order processing, shipping related tasks, and record keeping.
- Resolve problems, completes audits, identifies trends, and reports important or otherwise relevant operations information and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures that comply with company and legal regulations.
- Oversee quality, safety, and certification programs.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Additional projects and tasks will be assigned periodically.
The ideal candidate will have:
- BA/BS in Operations/Management or related field preferred.
- 2-5 years Distribution Center operations experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and management experience.
- Advanced MS Office proficiency.
- The position requires strong leadership, flexibility, and team building skills to drive improve efficiency and results of the logistics / supply chain functions.
- Able to work various shifts to train or backup management when required with overtime as needed.
- Knowledge of freight contracts, financial analysis, and contract negotiation.
- Experience with pricing and operational requirements for small parcel, LTL, domicile fleet, truckload, and mail.
- Limited travel may be required.
