Operations Manager - Gpac

A bit about the company:
 
They develop, manufacture, and sell high-quality products. Worldwide, they have around 750 employees. The local op has around 75 employees and a turnover of $25m annually. Their site here has been growing significantly. To grow further, the organization, processes, and layout need to be adjusted, and subsequent leadership needs to support a retirement in play.
 
Looking for an energetic Operations Manager to take over responsibility for our growing manufacturing operations. The successful candidate can implement and maintain a robust, flexible planning and lean production process, continuously improving productivity and quality. All this is done while delegating authority to key supervisors in purchasing, production, logistics, and quality and directing and coordinating operations at the manufacturing plant.
Responsibilities and Duties
Oversee all daily plant operations, from planning and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
Increase production output, efficiency, and flexibility while improving quality.
Ensure the production schedule is followed and aligned with the shipment plan.
Optimize inventory levels without compromising on-time deliveries
Make sure partnerships are established with key suppliers, guaranteeing the availability and good quality of raw materials and purchased components
Use KPIs to track performance against agreed targets
Allocate resources effectively and thoroughly utilize assets to produce optimal results
Develop staff in lean production techniques (VSM, SMED, Standard Work, TPM) and use lean tools to exceed the efficiency and flexibility targets.
Define plant strategy in alignment with corporate strategy to provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
 
Qualifications and skills
BS in Operations Management/Engineering and a Six Sigma Green Belt
Pragmatic, dynamic, hands-on, and down-to-earth
Proven track record as an operations manager with experience using an ERP system
Experience in a metal processing and assembly plant
Knowledgeable about safety, lean manufacturing, quality, productivity, demand creation and inventory
Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
Strong team-building, decision-making, and people management skills
