Job Details
Essential Functions:
Ensure the safety, quality, and efficiency of production operations, maintaining strict adherence to all applicable specifications, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and federal/state OSHA regulations.
Oversee staffing levels to ensure adequate resources are available to meet production demand, adjusting as necessary.
Monitor and manage material requirements, ensuring timely availability to support production schedules.
Maintain high product quality standards by regularly analyzing performance data and initiating continuous improvement projects.
Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess team progress and drive improvement efforts.
Lead and coach supervisors in applying Lean Manufacturing principles to solve operational challenges and enhance productivity.
Review and ensure compliance with quality documentation and participate in customer and regulatory audits as required.
Collaborate closely with manufacturing engineering teams to optimize processes and improve productivity.
Attend and actively participate in operations and project review meetings, providing input and insights to drive process improvements.
Design and implement comprehensive training programs, ensuring effective cross-training for the operations team to promote flexibility and adaptability.
Track and analyze key metrics such as on-time delivery, yield, and shop floor performance, working with cross-functional teams to achieve targets.
Provide ongoing mentoring, training, and support to manufacturing supervisors and team members to foster professional growth and ensure operational excellence.
Review and update daily production schedules to ensure alignment with operational priorities and timelines.
Prepare and deliver performance reports, tracking progress against established metrics and highlighting areas for improvement.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
8+ years of experience in manufacturing or operations management.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems, inventory management, and supply chain practices.
Familiarity with quality management systems and problem-solving methodologies (experience with Six Sigma or Lean is a plus, but not required).
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification is preferred but not required.
Excellent organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
OSHA 30 certification is preferred, but not required.
Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment.
Previous experience with OSHA and safety compliance in a manufacturing setting.
Proven track record in a managerial role, with the ability to lead teams and drive performance improvements.
