About the Job
Essential Functions
Warehouse Management
- Primary point of responsibility for receiving warehouse and inventory management for the site.
• Provides leadership, guidance and training in all warehouse functional areas, including receiving, warehousing, cycle counting, and material handling.
• Assures that the highest standards are maintained for safety, housekeeping, and compliance with all government and company requirements.
• Ensures optimization of all material flow activities including inventory control and materials movement
• Audits incoming shipments and inventory to ensure accuracy.
• Ensures all materials are picked properly and loaded securely to be delivered in a timely manner.
• Assess and regularly provide Management with updates on safety and manufacturing performance.
• Effectively managing expenses to the warehouse budget along with ensuring the appropriateness of expenditures.
• Maintains and updates policies, handbooks and procedures as per regulations, customer requirements and company strategy.
• Scheduling emergency and routine maintenance and repairs of all machines and equipment.
• Ensures that resource utilization is optimized in terms of timeliness, accuracy, efficiency, productivity and safety.
• Negotiate and authorize contracts with equipment and materials suppliers, and monitor contract fulfillment.
• Analyze expenditures and other financial information in order to develop plans, policies, and budgets for increasing profits and improving warehouse productivity.
• Participate in settlement of grievances brought by plant employees pertaining to safety and other incentive programs.
• Establish and maintain appropriate KPI for ensuring that performance of the zone and of individuals assigned to the zone are meeting expectations.
Department Management
- Conducts all recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating of department staff members.
• Establishes and maintain an organizational structure and staffing within budget to effectively accomplish the department's objectives and to support our financial reporting environment.
• Continuously improves the warehouse operations, including the development of staff by providing effective coaching and feedback as well as appropriate delegation to staff members; assists with administering annual reviews.
General and Administrative
- Supports the corporate vision, mission and values.
• Communicates effectively with various management and operational departments, informing and updating them regularly to guarantee that sales and customer objectives are met
• Complies with all OSHA safety requirements, work rules and regulations both personally and within the warehouse operations
• Compiles and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
• Follows systems and procedures outlined in company manuals
• Maintains departmental housekeeping standards
• All other duties as requested by management
Qualifications
Formal Education and Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Current First Responder and AED certification
Knowledge and Experience
Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in warehouse management
• Experience with negotiating contracts and managing expenses to a monthly budget is required.
• Experience with Managing projects across multiple areas of an organization that are related to manufacturing, transportation, warehouse operations is required.
• Experience with Lean Initiatives and successful implementation of Lean Projects within a manufacturing plant environment is required, certification is desirable.
