These industries include specialty alloys, non-ferrous metals, chemical/petrochemical processing, power generation, industrial process heating and mining.
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Operations Improvement Engineer to manage and oversee multiple operations activities within the Blasch Global Solutions Division with the goal of continuous improvement in all aspects of our fulfilment processes. The Operations Improvement Engineer’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to; upkeep, improvement and creation of operations documents and documented processes; communicating with vendors, co-workers and customers on quotations and order status and ensuring the quality of products and processes. This position will also require technical input on product design as well as creation and changes to engineered drawings.
To be a successful Operations Improvement Engineer you should be experienced in optimizing and creating operational processes and be an effective team member. An outstanding Operations Improvement Engineer should be dependable and have excellent organizational, administrative and time management skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects for all active customer opportunities as they pertain to the BGS Division in Salesforce.
- Manage all aspects for all active customer orders on Hold Status for the BGS Division in the Blasch ERP.
- Process physical products at facility as needed.
- Review, update and create (when needed) all documents and procedures as they relate to the BGS Division Operations processes. Perform and document internal audits of Operations Processes with the goal of ensuring compliance throughout the BGS Division fulfilment process.
- Work with Blasch Quality personnel in keeping all ISO 9001 standards and documentation, relevant to the BGS Division, accurate and current.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating daily activities in the warehouse.
- Evaluating and reporting on warehouse operations.
- Assist with tracking and coordinating the receipt, storage, and timely delivery of goods and materials.
- Assist with inspecting (using calipers and other mechanical inspection tools) and packaging of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Checking orders, bills, items received, inventory, and deliveries for accuracy.
- Assist with maintaining records, including a receiving and shipping log, reporting relevant information, and preparing any necessary documentation.
- Ensuring basic maintenance standards and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Communicating and coordinating with other departments, suppliers and customers in the USA and internationally.
All other tasks as assigned by the Director of Global Solutions.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smart phones. This job also operates in a warehouse and distribution environment which requires occasional heavy lifting and frequent use of industrial equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Our facility is open 7:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Typical office hours are Monday through Friday; 8 hours/day, typically 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Travel
This position may require occasional travel, including international travel.
Required Education and Experience
- Associate’s Degree in a related field or 5 years of previous employment in a technically related field
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technically related field and 5 years of previous employment in a technically related field
- Experience in SolidWorks
- Experience in ISO 9001 and/or 5S (or similar systems)
- Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred but not a prerequisite for this position
