Supports the business in maintaining the Operations Document Management System (ODMS) and maximizing value from ODMS use in the department. Requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. About you and this role
Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Document Management System (ODMS) Coordinator in Deer Park, Texas.
Supports the business in maintaining the Operations Document Management System (ODMS) and maximizing value from ODMS use in the department. Requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. May act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.
Responsibilities
- Leads overall ODMS "maintain" efforts for the business in the department.
- Coordinates and works with other ODMS support and implementation roles to "implement" and "maintain" the ODMS.
- Acts as the organization subject matter expert for the overall management system.
- Supports all element owners in the department.
- Drives the Plan DO Check Act cycle of continuous improvement.
- Works with Business/Department Leadership to identify organization level opportunities.
- Coordinates and facilitates the Management System Reviews.
- Able to implement Dow work processes in manufacturing environment.
- Able to develop and lead training, as well as learn quickly and be able to teach others.
- Have a desire to learn and develop technical skills to keep current with changing operations.
- Comfortable working with computers and able to learn new systems quickly.
- Demonstrates excellent decision-making skills, ability to prioritize appropriately.
- Effectively manages multiple competing priorities.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Able to communicate well, verbally and in writing, and have strong reading comprehension and listening skills.
- Able to communicate with a very diverse population which is spread across the site.
- Strong organization skills and must be able to prioritize workload and adapt to changing priorities.
- Able to plan, organize, and monitor multiple concurrent projects in order to meet established goals.
- Able to work with internal and external customers and must be able to work with a diverse group of customers.
- Able to work within an empowered team environment.
- Have a high regard for personal safety and the safety of others.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent AND one of the following is required.
- Associates degree or higher. Dow will consider 3 or more years of relevant military experience in lieu of a degree.
- 5 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3 years or more of experience as ODMS Coordinator.
- Able to work overtime as needed.
- Have a current, valid US driver's license.
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills and able to understand, analyze, and resolve technical problems in work area.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
- Able to work independently and show high initiative.
- A self-starter who is self-motivated and can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks..
