Role Overview
We are seeking an entry level Operations Associate to help our team support all other departments of our busy firm. Operations is currently run from our Woodbury Long Island location. The Operations department interacts with all other areas/departments at Maxim Group and our clearing firm; Pershing. Experience in the financial services industry is not required but knowledge of the industry is welcomed. The candidate will be trained and should be motivated and eager to learn. They should be willing to become licensed in the financial industry. (General Financial license SIE, Series 99 or Series 7)
The expected compensation for this role is: $50,000 - $55,000 a year.
Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following)
- Handle Physical client correspondence – track client documents
- Communicating with supporting and acting as liaison between our clearing firm and retail department registered representatives and sales assistants.
- Handle Corporate Actions items
- Cashiering (receipt and delivery of client’s funds via check, fed fund and ACH)
- Client Onboarding- open accounts or review and approve accounts.
- Margin and Regulation T – review daily reports and communicate with registered reps and sales
- Work closely with Compliance and other departments including Banking, Legal, Prime Brokerage, Institutional Sales and others.
Qualifications
- Must have four-year Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Must be willing to work in person in Woodbury currently
- Great communication skills
- Accuracy, attention to details a must in this fast paced deadline-driven environment
- A team player with a “can do” attitude
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and multi-task
- Strong Microsoft Office skills with proficiency in Excel
- Excellent organizational skills
