Job Summary and Qualifications
What you will do in this role:
- Under the general supervision of the Facility Operations management and guidelines set by policy and procedure operates and maintains central plant and HVAC equipment and systems throughout the facility.
- Performs operating, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance tasks to equipment including but not limited to: Boilers, centrifugal and reciprocating water chillers, electrical distribution systems, Emergency power generators, HVAC equipment including a variety of air handling systems (dual duct, terminal reheat, multi-zone, VAV, return, and exhaust) pumping systems, electrical motors and motor control, plumbing, refrigeration, water treatment, Fire Alarm and suppression, Pneumatic/electronic control systems, and energy management systems.
- Assists in the completion of project work including new equipment installation, existing equipment relocation or modification, and minor construction and renovation work, and other duties as assigned.
- Must be a self-starter able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be willing to continually improve skills and knowledge base through on the job training, continuing technical education, and self-education.
- Work for this position will be performed in a variety of internal and outdoor environments. Work in mechanical and electrical rooms, as well as work in any department of the hospital will routinely occur. Occasional work outdoors will occur to work on rooftop equipment, work on exterior lighting and structures, and miscellaneous other outside duties.
What Qualifications you will need:
- Technical school courses in related fields preferred.
- Class “A” Operating Engineers License preferred, EPA CFC Certification, or approved equivalent licensure/certification preferred.
- Must have valid drivers license.
- Minimum 3-years applicable experience preferably in a healthcare setting
