Job Description:
Workers provided by an employment or temp agency for a limited period of time on a fill-in basis or for a finite project.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance):
Receives various chemicals ordered by end users and through inventory management program. This may involve identifying, re-naming and bar-coding prior to placing into inventory.
Identifies proper containers to transport, deliver, and potentially ship chemicals and compounds. This may involve repacking and shipping.
Daily fulfillment of chemical orders from customers/researchers.
Utilizing the inventory management system.
Prepares orders for shipment.
Chemical orders from chemistry personnel are received by stockroom staff and checked for accuracy, registered into inventory database, assigned to the user and returned to the loading dock.
Properly stage for disposal all expired and out of date chemicals; evaluate chemicals and mixtures for quality and safety. Keeps record of disposals.
Delivers and picks up stockroom orders to/from the labs.
Maintenance of inventory using customer systems.
Maintains the accuracy of the chemical inventory by scanning all bottles in the stockroom and in the labs.
Maintain regulatory lists and safety information
May prepares appropriate shipping paperwork campus or to other global customer locations
Creates and adheres to Standard Operating
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)
High school diploma required; Associates or Bachelors degree in Logistics/ Supply Chain desirable
1-2 years of procurement, expediting, order management, and/or business experience
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)
Proven order management, forecasting knowledge, and/or expediting experience.
Proficiency with MS Office suite (Expert level skills in Excel and Access)
SAP experience highly desirable.
Strong problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently to prioritize multiple competing tasks
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Formal problem solving training highly desirable.
Familiarity with contracts desirable.
Presentation skills

$30 per hour
