About the Eddie and Jo Allison Smith Tower at ECU Health Medical Center
The Eddie and Jo Allison Smith Tower at ECU Health Medical Center, serves as the hub of ECU Health Cancer Care. The facility features 96 inpatient rooms, 60 infusion areas with a view of outdoor healing gardens, 58 clinics centered on patient care, an image renewal center, and a resource center offering additional services like psychotherapy, support groups and complementary therapies.
Position Summary
The nurse navigator provides individualized assistance to tumor site specific patients and their families in overcoming barriers to care, facilitating timely access to care, and providing education and support. The cancer patients trajectory through diagnosis, treatment, and after care survivorship will be seamless and coordinated in collaboration with the multidisciplinary oncology team.
Minimum Requirements
- BSN, MSN preferred
- Current North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Oncology experience preferred
- OCN preferred or within 2 years of employment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Organized, can multi-task, analytical, time management
- Work well under stress and be able to provide emotional support.
- Membership in professional organization (ONS, AONN, NCONN).

- This position is full-time (40hrs/week) M- F 8am-5pm
- No call, nights, or weekends
