About the Role:
This Accounting Supervisor role oversees a team of 5-6 accountants, managing the day-to-day general accounting tasks excluding revenue and accounts payable. Key responsibilities include performing bank reconciliations, preparing journal entries, overseeing fixed asset accounting, reviewing invoices, and providing guidance and training to the team. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to identify process improvements and support acquisitions/divestitures as needed.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of experience with Joint Interest Billing (JIB) and General Ledger (GL) accounting in upstream oil and gas accounting
• Familiarity with COPAS guidelines and joint operating agreements
• Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Ability to work hands-on and recognize accounting anomalies proactively
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Integrity and a self-starter mentality

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience in a supervisory or mentoring role
• Exposure to oil and gas accounting software (e.g., OGIS, DocView)
• Background in fixed asset and material transfer accounting
