The University of Wisconsin-Stout's Advisement Center invites applicants to apply for an Office Manager position. This position will report to the Director of the Advisement Center. This full-time University Staff position is responsible for managing the reception area of the Advisement Center which is a fast-paced office environment that serves over 2,000 students per semester, and is focused on providing a strong, positive student experience.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum / Required
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of two years working in a clerical/administrative related setting.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in a customer-focused environment
- Demonstrated ability to delegate and prioritize work, be a self-starter and problem solver
Highly Desired/Preferred
- Experience prioritizing customer needs
- Ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds with respect
- Demonstrated experience working with other departments, groups, or partners to accomplish a goal
- Basic proficiency with financial tools, purchasing, or reimbursement processes
- Experience in a higher educational environment
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Summary of the responsibilities for this position:
- Manage the front office of the Advisement Center including welcoming visitors, overseeing student staff, administering evaluations, maintaining traffic flow, answering basic questions, and troubleshooting
- Create and maintain front office procedures to ensure proper workflows, and adjust as necessary in accordance with the needs of the department and university
- Answering general phone/email/face-to-face inquiries from students, faculty, and staff and directing questions to the appropriate resources as needed
- Provide inventory control, travel, and basic purchasing functions of the office
- Schedule rooms and coordinate events in coordination with advisors, director, and other campus units
- Attend departmental staff meetings and update the unit on any process changes that occur and contribute to the success of the office
- Maintain effective student records in our campus Student Information System and work within established practices to maintain accuracy
- Liaise with program associates and departmental assistants across campus to ensure effective student/advisor transitions and troubleshoot general problems
- Other duties as assigned

Minimum starting hourly wage of $18.00, commensurate with qualifications and experience.A six-month probationary period is required.
