Job Summary
- The Office Coordinator is responsible for receiving and sending referrals, compiling outside patient records, scheduling patient appointments, screening and properly directing calls coming into the department. Knowledgeable of specific documents needed for a consulting physician prior to patient appointment. Understands the structure and function of supporting departments utilized. The Office Coordinator is also responsible for assisting with prior authorizations of patient infusions and treatments.
Job Requirements
- Education
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience
- Preferred: Previous work experience in health care
- Skills
- Working knowledge of word processing, English grammar, and correspondence format
- Possesses basic office computer skills
- Knowledge of current medical terminology
- Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment
- Able to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and use own initiative
